LED screen power consumption and power distribution box knowledge

LED screens are highly praised and recognized in the market due to their main characteristics such as energy conservation and environmental protection. China began the research and production of LED display screens in the 1980s.

With the improvement and development of pixel density function in various aspects of rental LED screens, the power consumption of LED screens is also constantly increasing. This requires us to continuously improve the energy-saving performance of LED screens when designing them. How is the power consumption of LED screens calculated, and what are the requirements for power distribution? Let’s take a look together:

(1) Power consumption calculation
The power consumption of LED screens is divided into average power consumption and maximum power consumption. The average power consumption, also known as working power consumption, is the actual power consumption during normal times.
The maximum power consumption refers to the power consumption during startup or extreme situations such as full lighting. The maximum power consumption is an element that must be considered for AC power supply (wire diameter, switch, etc.).
For example: P6 dual color LED display screen power consumption: average power consumption: 200W/square meter; Maximum power consumption: 350W/square meter
P6 LED electronic screen power consumption=P10 LED display screen power consumption x 2 times
The power consumption of full-color LED displays is about 1.5 times higher than that of approximate density dual primary color displays.
(2) Power distribution requirements
LED screens with a power consumption of less than 5KW can be powered by 220V ordinary lighting distribution (three wires);
If the power exceeds 5KW, a three-phase five wire system should be used for power supply;
Install circuit breakers and manual switch devices for maintenance in the distribution box;
The distribution box is equipped with protection measures for overcurrent, short circuit, open circuit, overvoltage, undervoltage, high temperature, etc., and corresponding fault indication devices are also equipped;

The distribution design adopts a three-phase balanced distribution scheme to ensure that the zero line leakage current is zero;
Use a signal ground independent of the protective ground for system use; The resistance of the protective ground wire to the ground should be less than 4 ohms.
